Wordjong TipsDo you play mahjong online or word games for free? Better yet, do you play the offspring of word games and mahjong, Wordjong? If you do, then great! Wordjong’s primary goal is to remove letters within a word puzzle and use them to form words until the entire board is cleared. It may take some time before you get used to playing it, but with these tips, you can be on your way to getting a lot more victories.

Long words are powerful.

Like most other word games, forming longer words results in getting higher scores. And with higher scores, the higher your chances of achieving victory. Bonus scores are also awarded when longer words are formed, so you better beef up on words that have five letters or more.

You can also try forming more seven-letter words. Whenever you form a seven-letter word, a green tile appears in the pile of letters. A green tile gives you bonus points if used to form words.

Short words can be useful.

Wordjong allows you to play words that are at least two letters long. If you do some research, you’ll find out that there are quite a lot of words that are composed of only two letters! From “aa” to “za,” you already have a pretty extensive word list. Imagine if you combine d that list with lists of longer words, you’ll never find yourself short on points!

Use Wordjong letters with higher values.

Every Wordjong letter tile has a corresponding point value. Since vowels are the most commonly used letters, they have the least value at one point each. On the other hand, letters that are not frequently used have higher values. Examples of these letters are J, Q, X, and Z. It is therefore wise to use letters with higher point values within longer words to have a significant effect on your score.

Take advantage of the multiplier points.

Random tiles that have multiplier points can sometimes be found in a game of Wordjong. When they appear, make sure to use them as much as you can as they can greatly increase your score! Combining letters that carry multiplier points with letters with high point values can help pave your way towards the path of victory in this game.

Balance vowels and consonants.

Working with mostly vowels or mostly consonants can be tricky and difficult, so make sure that you use a good mix of both.  It will also be helpful for you to expand your vocabulary and learn words that are either rich in vowels or rich in consonants. For example, words rich in vowels include “agree,” “cookie,” “oboe,” and “lieu.” Words that are rich in consonants on the other hand include “rhythm,” “cry,” “cyst,” and “synch.” Knowing words such as these can help you whenever you are faced with too many consonants without any vowels to work with or vice versa.

Get new tiles when stumped.

Wordjong has a “New Tiles” button that you can hit whenever you want to have fresh tiles. You can only do this once per game, so it is better to use it towards the latter part of a game.  You can use it when you have only 3 to five tiles left, giving you better chances of getting letters that you can use to form words with all the letters remaining on the board.

Use Wordjong wild tiles wisely.

If Scrabble has blank tiles that can represent any letter, Wordjong has wild tiles that have the same function. If you can, save them for later use, particularly when there is an imbalance between vowels and consonants. They do not have any value, so it is also wise to combine them with multiplier tiles and letter tiles that carry bigger point values to maximize your score. Wild tiles can make you play more flexibly, so use them well! You can earn wild tiles whenever you form a word that reaches the space that is marked by a butterfly. You can keep up to three wild tiles at a time.

Badge tips

Wordjong awards you with badges when you complete certain achievements or tasks. There are badges that require the use of wild and green tiles, so use them smartly. Some badges require specific word lengths, so if you want to earn them, you can concentrate on forming shorter words first then working your way up or vice-versa. For badges that require the use of tokens, you need to focus on playing longer words to get more tokens.

One more thing: if you play mahjong online, you may have your own arsenal of tricks that can also be applied in playing Wordjong.

Now, if you’ve only started to play Wordjong and you find yourself frustrated by how badly you play despite the tips and tricks we’ve laid out for you, give yourself some time. No matter how many word games for free are out there, you’ll never find one as challenging as this game.
